How does KorqPaint work?
KorqPaint is applied in one or two layers with a block brush. For a smooth end result, sand lightly with 180 or 200-grit paper after drying. Depending on the surface, a primer is needed, which you apply with a roller. For the finish, choose a transparent eco-wax or PU varnish that deepens and protects the color.

KorqPaint is naturally antifungal due to a combination of cork's unique biological properties and the physical action of the paint layer.
1. Natural resistance.
Cork is an organic material that is naturally resistant to moisture, chemicals and microorganisms. It contains the substance suberin, a waxy fatty acid compound that makes cork hydrophobic and impervious to rot. As a result, the surface provides no breeding ground for fungal spores.
2. Thermal insulation (prevents condensation).
One of the main causes of mold is condensation on cold walls. KorqPaint has a thermal insulating effect, making the walls feel less cold. This reduces the temperature difference with the indoor air, making condensation less likely to occur and preventing mold from growing.
3. Breathability (Vapor Openness).
Although the paint is waterproof on the outside, the structure remains vapor open. This means that moisture from the structure or interior can still escape ("breathe"). Trapped moisture is a known cause of mold; because KorqPaint allows this moisture to pass through, the wall remains drier.
4. Water-repellent barrier.
The paint forms an elastic, waterproof layer that blocks rainwater and rising moisture from outside. Keeping the wall dry eliminates the ideal moist environment for mold growth.
